Term 1 - The Chicken Dance

My class studied chickens in term 1. We learnt how to draw chickens and how to describe what we did. We also got to feed the chickens at our school and collect the eggs. There are photo's of me doing this on the new school website http://www.paruabay.school.nz/

The Penny Farthing - By Cameron

It is very dangerous. It wasn't the first bike that was invented but it was one of the first. A Penny farthing is a bike that has one big wheel and a little wheel and it is not very comfortable. It is hard to ride because it is hard to get onto and because is has hard tires not soft ones like on my bike.  It was invented in the 1800's. I like these bikes because they are weird. People still ride penny farthings. I watched some people racing them on utube. I like Penny farthings. I like the name because it's a Penny FARThing.

Our New Toy

 This is an early Christmas present. It's our little boat called Rusty (not because it's rusty). We got it last week and we have been out for a ride on it 2 times. The first time we went out in Parua Bay a pod of dolphins came to join us - which was pretty cool. We have cruised around the Bay and Cameron and my friend Allysa jumped off the boat with their life jackets on and then climbed up the ladder. Check out the photo's below. Dolphins are very hard to take photo's of because you don't know when they are going to jump out of the water. We will have lots of fun this summer playing in the boat.
